Portsmouth’s Founding Celebration of the 400th Anniversary

History in Bloom was the theme for the Portsmouth’s Grand Parade. “The Flower Girls” represented the eras of the four centuries of Portsmouth’s history.

From 1623 to 2023, “The Flower Girls” donned the beauty of the Seacoast’s Historical past:  The natural flora of the earth, the strawberry beauty, the lovely lilacs, the cherry tree blossoms and the salt from the waterfront.

Portsmouth Celebrates Fashion’s Night Out!

Inspired by nature, fueled by creativity and a love for fashion, Marcia Hansen designs these unique dresses especially for Portsmouth’s FNO. This collaborative event with one of New Hampshire’s premier floral shops, Flower Kiosk, promotes Portsmouth’s creative design and fashion industry. These botanical beauties have become one of the main attractions for this annual fashion show.  Dresses are individually designed and hand crafted with natural materials ranging from flowers, leaves, birch bark, to seaweed, sand and moss.  We hope you can catch a glimpse of “The Flower Girls” at future events.
